Get Out Of The Way

John 10:10

In this morning message, Bro. Anthony tells us how to get out of God’s way and to serve Him properly. In order for God to choose to use us in a way that pleases Him, we must abandon our own sinful pride, methods, ideas and allow Him to do His will in our lives, not our own.

After having begun the service with the baptism of six young men, Bro. Anthony proceeds to explain the meaning of baptism, the correct method by which to baptize and that baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus Christ in response to His ordinance to the church.

Formed For God’s Glory

In this morning sermon, Bro. Anthony explains, according to the Bible, why we are here. The Bible tells us that we were created to bring glory to God and that our purpose was known before we were ever born. We are all part of a much bigger picture than we can ever realize and we should glorify God in everything we do, say, think and believe by loving others, by telling others about Jesus, by becoming like Christ through a close, personal relationship with Him and by worshiping Him.

Singspiration 02-07-10

In this edition of our Godcast, we present our “Singspiration”, an evening of praise and worship in song which was originally scheduled to take place on the fifth Sunday evening of January. This service consisted of songs and hymns presented by FBC Lepanto members who wanted to participate in praising our LORD through music. We then adjourned to our Family Activities Center for a fingerfood fellowship and to watch the New Orleans Saints win Super Bowl XLIV.

In this, his third message regarding our purpose as a church, Bro. Anthony explains that we are made to worship and that our worship should be intimate, intentional and in spirit and truth.

Sin Is Contagious

Haggai 2:10-19

Bro. Anthony warns us in this third message from the book of Haggai that sin is contagious and that it is much easier for a Christian to fall prey to temptation and sin than to be strong and stand up for our beliefs. He also pointed out that evil lurks around every corner, that evil comes naturally to a non-believer and that good works do not bring about righteousness.

Born To Belong

In this morning message, Bro. Anthony pointed out six essential reasons that being an active member of God’s family and our church community enriches our lives, our relationship with other Christians and our relationship with God.

1. Being part of a church family identifies you as a believer.
2. Being part of a church family moves you away from self and isolation.
3. Being part of a church family helps you to grow.
4. The Body of Christ needs you.
5. Being part of a church family helps you to learn to share your faith.
6. Being part of a church family will help keep you from falling into sin.

Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement

For some of us, one of the most important things we must eventually learn is how to overcome spiritual discouragement. Bro. Anthony leads us using a story from Haggai where God helps His people to restore themselves to their prior state of  confidence and strength.
