FBCLA GodcastJeremiah 2:13

Two Great Evils

In this evening sermon, Bro. Anthony tells us how God used Jeremiah as a messenger to get the Israelites to recall the time when they had to depend totally on God so they would repent from their idolatry and how that relates to us today.

We were blessed by special music from our pastor and his family this morning and you can listen to the Langley family’s presentation of “I Lift My Hands” by Chris Tomlin in the player below.

Called To Love

On this annual Hallelujah Sunday morning, Bro. Anthony reminds us that we as Christians, are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others as ourselves.

Everyone is invited to attend our annual Hallelujah Sunday this week at First Baptist Church of Lepanto, AR beginning at 10:30 am. We will also be having a luncheon fellowship in our Family Activities Center after the morning service.

The Important Sign

John 19:31-33

In this Wednesday evening bible study message, Bro. Anthony continues his discourse on evidence which proves Jesus to be whom He said He was, The Son of God. In this episode, he discusses several aspects of the eyewitnesses who saw Jesus after His resurrection as well as some alternate theories people have had who choose not to believe that Jesus really died and was resurrected.

This is a slideshow provided by the Corner’s Chapel Church Disaster Headquarters of the Payneway, AR flood and it’s effects on the people of that community. We watched it Wednesday night at our FBC Lepanto prayer meeting and wanted to share it so even more of you can join us in praying for these people. If the video below doesn’t work, you can watch it on our Facebook page at the following link:

Bro. Anthony Langley and his wife, Mysty took the opportunity, Sunday evening to tell us the story of the adoption of their first little girl from China, Olivia. As they have already been accepted to once again adopt another little girl, this time, a special needs child from China, they also went on to explain some of the very detailed paperwork they must complete in order to satisfy both country’s adoption laws. They then went on to share some heartwarming photos via a PowwerPoint Presentation which can be seen below along with some great stories of their meeting and adopting Olivia, their first daughter. Sunday morning, the 22nd is going to be our annual Hallelujah Sunday and there will be a special offering taken in which some of the money will go toward helping to defer the enormous costs of traveling that they will incur. You can follow their progress in the adoption process from beginning to end via their blog which can either be accessed through our website, http://www.fbclepanto.com or directly at Baby Sister, The Sequel. Please be in prayer for the Langley’s and for their new little daughter, Zoey.

The Hell-Bound Train by Lance Roberts

A man lay on a bar room floor,
having drank so much, he could drink no more,

So he fell asleep with a troubled brain,
to dream that he rode the hell-bound train,

The engine with murderous blood was damp,
and was brilliantly lit with a brimstone lamp,

An imp for fuel was shoveling bones,
while the furnace rang with a thousand groans,

The boiler was filled with lager beer,
and the devil himself was the engineer,

The passengers were a most motley crew,
both church member, atheist, Gentile and Jew,

Rich men in broad cloth, beggars in rags,
beautiful young ladies and withered old hags,

Young men, old men, red, brown and white,
all chained together, oh God, what a sight,

When out of the distance there arose a yell,
Ah ha!, said the devil, we’re nearing hell,

You’ve paid full fare, so I’ll carry you through,
for it’s only fair you should have your due,

You’ve robbed the rich, you’ve stole from the poor,
your starving brother, you’ve turned from your door,

For an employer always expects of his hire,
so I’ll land you safe in the lake of fire,

The man awoke with an anguished cry,
his head wet with sweat and his hair standing high,

So he prayed for Jesus to save him that hour,
to be safe from sin and the devil’s power,

And the man’s prayers were not in vain,
for because of Jesus, he never rode the hell-bound train.
