Sin Is Contagious

Haggai 2:10-19

Bro. Anthony warns us in this third message from the book of Haggai that sin is contagious and that it is much easier for a Christian to fall prey to temptation and sin than to be strong and stand up for our beliefs. He also pointed out that evil lurks around every corner, that evil comes naturally to a non-believer and that good works do not bring about righteousness.

Born To Belong

In this morning message, Bro. Anthony pointed out six essential reasons that being an active member of God’s family and our church community enriches our lives, our relationship with other Christians and our relationship with God.

1. Being part of a church family identifies you as a believer.
2. Being part of a church family moves you away from self and isolation.
3. Being part of a church family helps you to grow.
4. The Body of Christ needs you.
5. Being part of a church family helps you to learn to share your faith.
6. Being part of a church family will help keep you from falling into sin.

Overcoming Spiritual Discouragement

Haggai 2:1-9

For some of us, one of the most important things we must eventually learn is how to overcome spiritual discouragement. Bro. Anthony leads us using a story from Haggai where God helps His people to restore themselves to their prior state of  confidence and strength.

Called To Harvest

Shattered Dreams

During our Sunday evening worship services in the month of January, we will be exploring the message of the prophet Haggai. He prophesied in a time when the people of Israel had returned from exile to reestablish themselves as a nation under God. They had been allowed to return to their homeland to rebuild their city, but they also had been sent back by God to reestablish their identity as God’s holy people. The problem is that they became distracted by minding their own business when they should have been minding God’s. They were focused on all the wrong things while God’s Temple was laying in ruins. We do the same thing in our lives today. We ignore God’s will for our lives and mind our own business. In the book, Haggai stirs the people to action and duty through harsh yet encouraging words. This message is just as important for us today as it was for the people of Israel. We will explore the book of Haggai in four sermons. Don’t miss it!

In preparation for our annual Deacon election, Bro. Anthony Langley presented a message this morning to help us understand what a Deacon is and the requirements of the men who are chosen for that service. He then pointed out that the requirements for a Deacon are also what a Christian should look like.

In the conclusion to his morning sermon, Bro. Anthony finishes his message about the five points which we should consider when examining ourselves regarding our walk with God and our fellowship with other Christians.

Self Evaluation

As we begin another new year, Bro. Anthony urges us to look within and to do a serious self evaluation of our walk with the LORD. This morning segment is part one of the sermon, part two will be the next Godcast episode.
