Reflections On Repentance First Baptist Church of Lepanto, Arkansas 2 Peter 3:9 Here, we have yet another powerful message from Bro. Jim Duffel instructing us that we, as Christians should strive to live profitable lives in the eyes of God and that we should consider repentance a lifestyle instead of a one-time occurrence. He also tells us that we must exhibit contrition, confession and commitment in our decision to repent.

However, Bro. Jim shocked the church body with the news that he would soon be taking advantage of an opened door which he feels God has provided him in the form of a permanent teaching position. Although the details are yet to be ironed out, if all goes according to his plans, Bro. Jim will be changing his focus from full-time preaching to teaching at East Poinsett Co. High School beginning in August. He explains to us that by following God’s direction, his decision is to step into a role in which he can reach teenagers. I’m sure I speak for everyone involved when I say that we will sincerely miss Bro. Jim, both for his spirit-filled sermons and for his compassionate, loving, kind personality which we have all come to depend on. Bro. Jim has been our trusted, devoted shepherd and pastor for the last nine years and we pray that God will bless him and his family in any future endeavours.
