In God Alone
July 25, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Psalm 62 reminds us that all of the resources of life are met in God, alone! It seems to me that we spend far too much time in the energy of the flesh trying to do what is required of us. It’s not the desire that is absent, for as Paul states, the willing is present with us (Rom. 7:21) but the follow through is where the difficulty lies. All of us would readily admit that we do want the control of the Holy Spirit. We have to be reminded daily that there is no sufficiency apart from the Lord. In verse 11 of this Psalm David writes: “God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: strength belongs to God”. And in verse 8: “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge.”
By His Grace,
Bro. Jim

New Things
July 18, 2007 | Leave a Comment
This is a new day at First Baptist Church! If you are reading this then you are already aware of our new use of this technology. We believe that our responsibility to the Great Commission compels us to use any and all things at our disposal to promote the Gospel. We also believe that this tool will be a great asset in strengthening the walk of our members and others who will join us online. In the days to come I am going to attempt to share with you words of encouragement and challenge that I pray will help with our daily resolve to be faithful to the Lord ’till He comes. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
By His Grace,
Bro. Jim
Pastor

Thank you so much for your trip to Palmer.

Thank you so much for your trip to Palmer. I enjoyed the visit and the gift of the video. Please pray for me and my family. I used to attend Baptist churches, but fell away like a fool. My wife is a non-practicing Catholic and is against going to a non-Catholic church, so my study has had to been in secret. I know that God can move mountains, and he can turn her heart when she is ready. Please pray for us, and I pray that your work is fruitful. I have been praying that God would bring a Bible-believing church to Palmer, and I am so encouraged that Palmer Bible Fellowship is here. Thank you

We had a great day today. We had 6 additional kids at our bible club. It went great. The kids had a blast and got to hear about Jesus. We got to do a little relaxing today. We went out in the country, to one of Palmer Bible’s family’s house. Waaaay back in a pasture goes to a river where we got to play, cook out, and play a pretty cool bean-bag tossing game where Tanner Ponders and I DOMINATED. Don’t listen to anything Duffel says about his bean-bag greatness!

If God leads us to do so …we’ll stay as long as it takes and work as long as needed.
God is sooooo good. He is doing a great work in our hearts, and in the hearts of the church as well. We had a great time going out into the community this evening. We shared testimonies afterwards and God used that to encourage us and to strengthen us.

We’ve had a great couple of days. Last night we watched a movie, with the church, called ‘Time Changer’. I will recommend it to anyone. A great movie about how we are slowly pushing “Jesus” out and replacing with “moral teaching” …and failing to state the author of “morality”; which is Jesus Christ.

We met the Rutten’s today; George & Paula. It was great meeting them. We got to hear their story of how God had led them to start a Southern Baptist church. We are excited to share in this vision with them, but are, more importantly, excited about reaching this part of Nebraska with the gospel. They told us today that there is 1 other “Southern” Baptist church within 50 miles or so. It’s in Kearney, NE I believe.

These are the blog entries from Bro. Steve on the EPiC Adventure `07 Mission Trip to Palmer, Nebraska. They were transferred here from the FBCLA Homepage.
We had a GREAT trip to Kansas City! We sang some silly songs and just had a great time. But by the time we got to KC we were sure ready to get off that bus. I am soooooo thankful for Roger Tyler and Bro. Jim. God so uses ALL of us to fulfill His will. It blows my mind how God puts people together to make a complete puzzle to fulfill His will.
